Walk in the Wilderness: Shawka to Summit (Medium)

Date: 15th November 2019  |  Venue: RAK  |  Time : 07:00 - 14:30

A scenic and relatively easy route through a wadi bed to a camel farm before starting to incline over some hills to a lovely viewpoint over the Shawka area. We then continue steeply up another 50m over some very loose, rocky scree and slightly technical terrain until we reach the highest point of Shawka for stunning 350 degree views. Suitable for any fitness level, although first time hikers will find the final ascent challenging. Hiking boots recommended, especially for final ascent.

Distance: approx. 7-8km

Expect to be back in Dubai by 14.30pm. (Distance from Dubai is approx 1hr)

WHAT'S INCLUDED? The satisfaction of supporting a local charity, carpool organisation, an experienced guide, certified outdoor first aiders, and a guaranteed day of fun!

What do I need to bring? Snacks, sunscreen protection and hat, a minimum of 3L of water and a hiking backpack to carry it in, comfortable clothes, proper hiking boots with ankle support and trekking poles are recommended.
