The participants rode into Bab Al Shams on 2 December to mark the 40th anniversary of the UAE, where they were enthusiastically welcomed and congratulated for achieving the daunting feat.
All seven emirates of the UAEwere visited during the expedition, which took off on 28 November in Al Ain. Covering a route of over 350km, the participants navigated difficult terrain including mountain paths and wadis. Throughout the five-day adventure, participants lived close to nature while camping in tents.
Organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, Fitness First contributed Dhs135,000 through the event for the Al Manar Charity School in Ajman.
A seven-member Fitness First team led by Chief Operating Officer George Flooks participated in the arduous challenge. Mark Botha, Sales and Marketing Director, and Nathan Brown, Group GX Manager, were also part of the Fitness First squad.
With more than 18 clubs across the Middle East offering state-of-the-art equipment, fully qualified personal trainers and latest group exercise classes, Fitness First is dedicated to 'make the world a fitter place'.
