Motivation (Africa) is a UK registered charity working primarily in developing countries to improve the quality of life of wheelchair users. Motivation works with local organistions to initiate sustainable projects that enable individual wheelchair users to fully participate in the life of their communities.
Activites include:
- Designing locally-appropriate wheelchairs
- Training local people in production and all necessary support services.
- Wheel chair production workshops- the World’s first Wheelchair Technologists Training Course at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro in Moshi ( in partnerhip with the Tanzanian Training Centre for Orthopaeidic Technologists – TATCOT)
- Providing wheelchairs to those in need
Gulf for Good funded 20 wheelchairs for those in need. Each beneficiary was assessed, means tested (to ensure that those most in need get support) and had a full fitting process.
