The visit to charity was the best experience of my life.

My first trip was Kilimanjaro which was life changing. I’ll never forget seeing the sun come up at the summit after the longest and coldest night I’ve ever experienced. If it wasn’t for the fact we were doing it for the kids I’m not sure I’d have been able to make it. It was really tough going but for the feeling of achievement at the top was amazing.

The challenges always put things back into perspective and remind me how lucky we are and how we should stop complaining and instead appreciate what we have. What amazes me every time I go on these challenges is to see the smiles we cross along the way…

Hiking in the Himalaya to more than 18,000ft at sub zero temperatures, dealing with altitude sickness, not showering for days on end, feeling exhausted, tired and hungry wasn’t originally why I signed up for a Gulf for Good challenge, but actually, these are the things that keep me coming back. In regular life, I can’t step outside my comfort zone like I can on a Gulf for Good challenge, see parts of the world most will never, and of course, change lives!

From the crazy busy streets of Vietnam to the country roads of Cambodia, visiting the amazing charity we supported, the incredible people, the temples, the long hot days on the bike, and great team mates – the whole cycle challenge was the experience of a lifetime. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

From all of us at Bethel, we are so humbled and thankful to have the support like we do from G4G. As you can see, your support is transforming the lives of our children by giving them the opportunities that all children should have. Thank you so much for your help!

It all started with the Annapurna Circuit challenge in 2009 where G4G helped to lay the foundation and build the Eco Home’s first floor. In 2011, following the Everest Base Camp challenge, we were able to complete the entire building with separate spacious bedrooms for girls and boys. Further support was received from the 2015 Everest Base Camp challenge to purchase a 4WD multipurpose jeep. In the spring 2016 Bhutan challenge and fall 2016 ENBD Poon Hill challenge, G4G purchased the land in front of the home and insulated the home. The 2017 Annapurna challenge purchased needed furniture and the 2017 Omnicom Media Group built a third floor expansion to accommodate more kids. We are very grateful for all of the support we received for the the orphaned and destitute children.

I would like to thank the entire Gulf for Good team for their support and guidance in identifying a great charity in Manzil, planning the challenge, and finally, managing the event through to all the team successfully accomplishing the challenge. The experience created a great bond between all of the Challengers in a way that no other company activity could, it has also developed the team’s strong community spirit which has led to other initiatives. We are very proud of [our fundrai sing achievement] and are most grateful to G4G for their ideas and experience when it came to fundraising.

I am writing to thank you and the entire Gulf for Good team for your guidance and support throughout OMG’s Kilimanjaro Challenge. The trip was a huge success in terms of team building, personal development, and fundraising efforts. It was a pleasure planning the trip, working closely with all the Gulf for Good team whose support was unwavering over the long planning process. We are already busy planning our next challenge with Gulf for Good and look forward to continuing to support your programs in the future.
