MEET THE TEAM
Nepal enthusiast Anne has done 13 challenges, including Everest Camp in 2015 (when the earthquake occurred), where she saw first-hand the heart-breaking devastation caused to so many communities. When not in the mountains, stair climbing or beach hiking, Anne loves cooking, baking and feeding people – after all, she is Irish.
Serial entrepreneur, Brian started Gulf for Good in 2001 when he and his friends recruited 49 people to trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro to buy ambulances for use in Namibia. Brian is an adventurer, born in India and traveling since, Dubai became his home in 1976. Enviroserve, Universal Express, and Ductac are some of the companies that Brian founded alongside Gulf for Good.
Elaine completed her first G4G challenge in 2002 to Everest Base camp and it changed her life. As a passionate lover of the great outdoors she found their challenges the perfect way to challenge herself and support children in need. As a long time resident of the UAE, she was the CSR lead for Microsoft before giving up the corporate world to help people live healthier and happier lives as a wellness coach. She can be found teaching yoga and plant based cooking classes when she is not running a retreat or travelling off the beaten path.
Born in East Africa, Barrister Jim runs his own practice in Dubai, where he has been living since 1989. A founder member of the board, Jim has done several challenges in Tanzania and Morocco. In his spare time, Jim can be found working with Larchfield Kids, one of our main charities, of which he is the founder.
CFO Jay is our Finance whiz, helping us keep all our figures in order and advising us on our budgets and costs. When he’s not working with numbers, he enjoys yoga and is a keen runner and cyclist. Jay has peddled his way across Laos and trekked in India.
From Canada, Jen’s background is in raising funds for children in developing countries. Passionate about children, nature, travel, and adventure, it’s easy to see why Gulf for Good is Jen’s dream job. She has done two challenges and looks forward to climbing Kilimanjaro!
Marketing and Communications guru Lisa hails from Northern Ireland but has been sharing her expertise in Dubai for 11 years. When she has some free time, enthusiastic sailor Lisa can often be found out on the water. Lisa has done 3 challenges and has a few more up her sleeve.
Motor racing expert Martin has spent much of his life in the Middle East. As well as running his own motor sports company in Dubai, Martin is also a keen mountain biker. Martin did his first challenge to Mongolia and hasn’t looked back. He’s recently become a dad but is still managing to find the time to motivate our volunteers and lend us his expertise.
Keen sailor Phil is almost a local, having lived in Dubai for over 37 years. Former CEO of a manufacturing business, Phil has semi retired and when not cycling or sailing, he can be found on the golf course. As Challenge Director he has completed 2 challenges with many more to come.
Walker by name and Walker by nature, Taz loves to get those hiking boots on! She and hubby recently trekked 192 miles (309 kms) across England with their 3 children (all budding ‘Walkers’!) Taz is passionate about travel including having 5 Gulf for Good challenges under her belt and aspires to travel to over 100 countries – over half of the world.
