Registered in 2015 by Sarah Brook, The Sparkle Foundation’s vision is to deliver a future in which every community has equal opportunity to live a life of health and self-sufficiency. Their first project Sparkle Malawi, which is located in Zomba, Malawi - the fourth poorest country in the world – has four main programmes:
Number of children impacted: 300 children plus 14,000 people in the community
United Nation's sustainable development goal: Welfare (Sparkle cover nine of the UNSDGS)
Charity number: UK CHARITY REGISTRATION NUMBER 1161708 and IHC International Humanitarian City (IHC) Reg. 50131
This is the first project Gulf for Good will be working on with the Sparkle Foundation
The following are the charity's current needs that we are working towards supporting.
Sparkle Malawi has requested USD35,000 to purchase a plot of land to build a farm to not only feed the 300 children they support but also as a means of educating the children and reduce their annual food bill by 10%.
The local community will also learn about permaculture and crop rotation to improve their subsistence farming methods.
Notes: This charity project may change due to changes outside our control. We will endeavour to keep to the planned project but cannot be held responsible for last minute changes that might occur. In all such circumstances, the Charity Director & GFG Board will have the final decision.
